FAQ
Amazon officially launched its FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) service in 2007. FBA, or Amazon Fulfillment, lets third-party sellers use Amazon’s platform by integrating their inventory into Amazon’s global logistics network. Amazon handles picking, packing, and last-mile delivery for these sellers, in exchange for service fees.
On Amazon, the main goal of FBA is to boost user experience and increase customer loyalty—not to serve as a major source of revenue.
In international air cargo, "CC" usually means "Collect"—meaning the shipping fees are paid by the consignee at the destination, not by the shipper at the origin.
For example, if a U.S. company imports goods from China and they agree on CC terms, the Chinese shipper doesn’t pay the freight when handing the goods to the airline. Instead, the U.S. consignee covers the cost when receiving the shipment, paying the airline or its agent directly.
Lots of ports have similar spellings, and even the same port can be split into different terminals or customs areas. As a professional logistics provider, when a customer sends an inquiry, it’s crucial to confirm the exact terminal they’re referring to—this makes customs clearance much smoother.
1. Finalize the cooperation agreement: First, the shipper and forwarder reach a transportation agreement. The shipper provides details like cargo info, transport method, destination, and budget. The forwarder then creates a plan based on these and shares a quote—usually covering transport, customs clearance, insurance, and document processing fees.
2. Prepare export documents and inspect goods: The shipper gathers export docs (packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, customs declarations) for customs filing. Customs checks the goods to verify info is accurate; after that, the cargo is moved to the port of shipment.
3. Export customs clearance: Before loading, the forwarder submits detailed cargo declarations to customs. Once approved, customs releases the goods for export. The forwarder stays in close touch with customs here to keep things moving smoothly.
4. Import customs clearance: When the goods reach their destination, the forwarder handles import clearance. Similar to export clearance, they submit all required docs and coordinate with the importing country’s customs to get the goods cleared quickly.
5. Transport to final destination: After clearance, the cargo is typically shipped via land to its final spot. The forwarder arranges trucks or other vehicles to ensure safe delivery.
International freight forwarders can arrange cargo transport via sea, air, rail, cross-border road, or multimodal transport. They also partner with trucking companies to move containers efficiently. Plus, based on your destination and delivery timeline, they’ll work up the best shipping plan that fits your budget.
